The questions people ask us before changing hosting
It is. We migrate accounts coming from another provider free of charge, within the scope described in our Knowledge Base. There is no migration fee and no lock-in: you only need a hosting plan with us.
Not if the order is respected. The site is set up here while the domain still points to the old hosting; the nameservers are only changed once the new copy has been tested. As both copies are identical, visitors see the same site whichever of the two is serving it.
It depends on the size of the site and on the panel it comes from — copying a brochure site is not the same job as copying a shop with years of orders. We give you the estimate once we have looked at your case, inside the ticket itself. On top of that comes domain propagation, which is not up to us.
The mailboxes are recreated here with the same addresses before the domain is pointed over. For the first few days it is worth checking both mailboxes — the old and the new — because while the change propagates some messages reach the old server and some the new one. If you use Outlook, keep both configured side by side during that period.
It does not. WordPress is one of the most common cases and it comes over whole: files, database and the domain's mailboxes. If you would rather prepare the files yourself, the Knowledge Base explains how to generate the zip and the sql of the site before you hand us the ticket.
As many as fit the plan you take — it is the plan that sets the number of sites, the disk space and the mailboxes, not the migration. List them all in the same ticket and we handle them together.
There are. We do not guarantee migrations from incompatible platforms: closed website builders that do not let you export the site files leave nothing to copy. Tell us where the site is and we confirm before starting — if it cannot be migrated, we say so plainly.
No. The migration is done from the access you give us and does not involve the old provider. What we do ask is the opposite: do not cancel anything before the move is finished — if the old account disappears halfway through, there is nothing left to copy from.
After checking the site and the mail on the new account, and never on the day of the move itself: keep the old hosting for at least a week. While the change propagates, part of your visitors and part of your messages are still being served from there.
You can, and they are two different things: the migration brings the site, the transfer brings the domain registration. One does not require the other — the site can be migrated while the domain stays where it is. If you want both, see the Domain Transfer page.
